 HEALTH & SAFETY ALERT Product Recall – Safety Spectacles What Happened: Crossrail has been advised by its PPE supplier, that the manufacturer of Nevada Safety Spectacles (clear, grey & yellow lens) has issued a product recall notice. We have been told that there is a manufacturing fault with the spectacles, and that this defect has arisen following a change in the manufacturing process, but we do not have any more specific details. The recall notice refers to all Nevada Safety Spectacles manufactured and supplied since New Year’s Day 2017. These spectacles should now be withdrawn from use, and a suitable alternative used. The stores should be checked and any items removed. Crossrail issued safety spectacles can be returned to the Crossrail supplier Bodyguard, who will provide a suitable alternative.

While Crossrail has taken action with respect to its own employees, this Alert is being issued to inform all our contractors, and to assist them in contacting their own PPE supplier if needed.

Actions to be Taken: Contact your supplier to find out if they have supplied these spectacles. Actions may include making arrangements for: • Withdrawing from use and quarantining Nevada Safety Spectacles.

Checking PPE stores and quarantining Nevada Safety Spectacles. Liaising with your supplier to collect the recalled spectacles. Arrange with your supplier for replacement spectacles.
