MUSIC NOTES: Fourteen of Northwood’s youth and adults will be attending the Florida Fellowship Church Music Workshop (also known as Music Camp) beginning today near Leesburg FL. Tom and Cindy Huffman, as part of the leadership team, are already there making preparations. Music and worship leaders, choir members, pastors, and more will have a week packed full of music, worship, fellowship and fun that impacts us individually and ultimately all of us as we increase skills and gain new ideas to share back home. Our guest organist today is Priscilla Ortoski, the sub dean of the Clearwater Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. After 35 years as director of music at various area churches, she decided to retire. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree from Westminster Choir College of Rider University, Princeton, NJ. Priscilla and her husband Ted live in New Port Richey. The flowers in the sanctuary today are given to the glory of God by Barb Schlerf In Loving Memory of My Mother, Mary Simpson Friends of Northwood Flower orders & donation costs for flowers ordered for worship are made using the “2014 Flower Reservation Chart” on the bulletin board across from the kitchen. HYMN #758

WE CONFESS *THE LAW OF GOD (Together, page 36 Glory to God) Exodus 20:1-17 God spoke all these words, saying, I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or worship them. You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God. Remember the Sabbath day, and keep it holy. Honor your father and your mother. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or anything that belongs to your neighbor. CALL TO CONFESSION

Paul Means, Associate Pastor

PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Together) We confess, O God, our repeated tendency to insist on our own way, and serve no one but our own needs and desires. We disobey and turn from your rule in our lives. Forgive our unwillingness to listen to your word when it comes to us through parents, children, friends, and humble messengers. Open our ears and help us to discern when you are speaking so that we may serve you alone. Through Jesus Christ, King of kings we pray, Amen.
