Prelude

Invocation ......................................................... Dr. Sean Michael Lucas Dear heavenly Father, we praise, bless, and adore you for your commitment to fill our hearts and transform our lives with your grace and peace—the grace of your glorious gospel and the peace that peace comes from knowing we have been, once-and-for-all, reconciled to you. You are the timeless and eternally present God, alone worthy of our worship.

Hymn 642 .............................................................. Be Thou My Vision

God the Holy Spirit, in your seven-fold fullness, you herald the glory of God in eternity and in the courts of heaven, and you constantly apply the finished work of Jesus to our lives. We wouldn’t know the depth of our need, or the wonder of God’s gospel, apart from your faithful ministry. Great is your power; great is your faithfulness.

Hymn 381 .......................................... Brethren, We Have Met To Worship

Lord Jesus, you are the Prophet we need—God’s final word to us, the faithful witness to God’s glory need and all things. Everything you say can be trusted; everything you say must be heeded. You are the Priest for whom we long—who long became our sin-sacrifice in death, and were raised as the guarantee of our justification and surety of our full redemption. You ever welcome us to your throne of grace. You are the King in whom we trust —sovereign over kings and crickets; our sorrows and our successes; this day and all days; our deepest wounds and our greatest hopes. Jesus, only your love is better than life; only the freedom you give us is true freedom; only your shed blood was/is sufficient to free us from the penalty, power, and presence of sin; only your kingdom is unshakable and lasting; only in service to you do we find meaning in this life, and the life to come… to you be glory and power for ever and ever! So very Amen we pray, in your matchless and merciful name.

Corporate Call to Worship ................................................. 1 John 5:1-5 MINISTER: Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him.
