INTRODUCTION: 1. The Gospel is one message in various forms. Share what aspect(s) of the Gospel drew you to Christ (i.e. relationship with God, fear of hell, heaven, peace, joy, etc.).

TAKE A LOOK AT THE BOOK: Read Acts 2:14-40 then Read Acts 17:22-31 Discuss the differences in approaches from the two preachers. • • • • •

What was each ones audience? What effect did that have on the sermon, any? What did each one start with, what was the opener? Where was the transition from meeting the cultural needs of their audience to bringing in Jesus? What does each one say about Jesus? After reading and discussing what hang ups do you think each audience had with Jesus?

Break into smaller groups and talk through what the key components are to the big story of Scripture like Peter shared. What are the key connection points Paul made with the polytheists of Athens?

TAKE IT HOME: What kind of hang-ups do you think people in our local area have in regard to trusting in Jesus? What aspects of the Gospel address those issues? Think about a specific non-believer you know -- what issues are they dealing with? What keeps that specific person from trusting in Jesus? How can you help address their issue?
