Update NEWSLETTER

January, 2016

A MESSAGE FROM 2016 CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD – T. J. JEAN Happy New Year to all! I am extremely honored to begin my term as Chairman of the Board of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce. This year promises to be a year of further growth and success for your Chamber and the business community it faithfully serves. On behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff at the Chamber, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mark Farrell of Laars Heating Systems for his dedicated service as Chairman of the Board for the past two years. His leadership has helped guide our Chamber on a path of growth and prosperity. As the former mayor of Rochester, I have come to realize just how special Rochester is to live, work, and raise a family. Our Chamber plays such a vital role in ensuring Rochester remains a premier destination in New Hampshire by promoting and supporting the future growth and development of our membership. The continued success of our Chamber will rely heavily on the involvement and participation of our members. I look forward to working with our members, the Chamber staff, and community leaders to identify areas where our Chamber can assist our membership to adapt in an ever-changing business climate. Our Board must remain vigilant to the needs of our members and provide services that promote and support the membership. Your input, feedback, and involvement will be paramount to our continued success. I am very excited for the year ahead and some newer programs which are being offered to our members. Specifically, the development of our new Young Professionals Networking Group, which will provide the younger professionals of our community an opportunity to become involved with our Chamber. We will also be launching a new Leadership Greater Rochester Program aimed at developing community leadership skills to those in the greater Rochester area. If you’re asking yourself the easiest way to become involved, the answer is quite simple. Start by keeping our Business Referral Directory in arms reach at all times and consider utilizing our members to provide you with the goods and services that you require. This will afford you the opportunity to develop local business relationships that strengthen the success of our community. Additionally, I personally invite you to attend our many networking events which will provide you the opportunity to meet new and existing members in a casual and social environment. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have about your Chamber. The continued success of this wonderful organization relies on your participation and involvement. I am excited to begin working with the members, our Board of Directors, and the Chamber Staff to further grow and strengthen our membership in 2016. Wishing you all the best in this New Year! T. J. Jean 2016 Chairman of the Board
