e are so thankful that you have chosen to worship with us today. If you are visiting let me welcome you and ask that you please fill out a Connection card found in the pew and return it to an usher at some point today. Last

week as I preached on the persecuted church of the world, little did I know that a rural church in Texas was experiencing that very reality simultaneously. We are deeply grieved for the act of evil brought against our brothers and sisters in Texas. In light of that, a lengthy discussion regarding security was had this past Wednesday night. Our security team recently had a risk assessment done on our church and security protocols. We had some time ago set out a 3 year goal of adding numerous changes to our facilities to improve security. However, the church voted to begin a 30 day pledge campaign on December 1 to raise up to $50,000 to finalize these security needs immediately. This includes installing a complete interior/exterior camera system, electronic door locking system, and exterior transportation. This pledge should be above your tithe or previous commitments to the Lord. While we know that not everyone will be able or feel led to do so, we simply ask you to prayerfully consider how you should give. Pledges will need to be fulfilled no later than March 31, 2018. At that time the church will vote on what has been received to determine specifically how to allocate those gifts. It is a sobering reality that a church be forced to consider such actions, yet it is our reality nonetheless. These additions would strengthen our security not just for a situation as seen in Texas last week, but for loss prevention, sexual abuse and overall safety of our children and church property. While we walk by faith and trust in the Lord, we simultaneously must be wise and proactive. Join me in praying and giving for this important need. For His Glory, Pastor Justin
