Prelude STANDING (IF ABLE)

God calls us to worship Liturgist: All: Liturgist: All:

from Revelation 15:3-4

Come and worship the Lord God Almighty, for great and amazing are all his deeds! Just and true are all his ways! Who will not fear the Lord and glorify his name? For he alone is holy. All na3ons will come and worship him, for his righteous acts have been revealed.

We praise God Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation Hymnal #276

Text: Latin hymn 6th or 7th cent. tr. John Mason Neale 1851 Tune: Henry Smart 1866

We pray for God to help us worship Pastor: All:

Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! He died for us that we might live for him.

God calls us to confess our sin Liturgist:

from Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

We confess our sin All (sing): Trisagion (below); sing 3 \mes Liturgist: All:

Christ our Champion, you have called us to resist and conquer evil in your way and with your strength. But we try to fight spiritual war with worldly weapons in the strength and wisdom of our flesh rather than your Spirit. We repay evil with evil, boast with boast, anger with anger, insult with insult. We love to take revenge, and we praise those who take pride in vengeance. We oGen confuse meekness with weakness and gentleness with cowardice. And so our thoughts and ac3ons are taken cap3ve by the lies of the evil one. Lord, have mercy on us. (silent prayers of confession)

Liturgist:

Gracious Father, may your gentle kindness turn our hearts back to you. Renew us and lead us by your Holy Spirit’s grace and power to fight spiritual baales with spiritual weapons of courageous kindness, bold love, humble strength, and gentle answers that turn away wrath. Help us to take every thought cap\ve to obey you and to walk in a manner worthy of your calling in the unlimited strength and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

STANDING (IF ABLE)

God declares our forgiveness Liturgist:

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniqui\es.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.

All:

from Psalm 103:8-13

For all who have turned from sin in sorrow and look to God for mercy, this is God’s gib. In Jesus Christ, God loves you, God forgives you, God accepts you, and God rejoices over you as beloved daughters and sons. Hallelujah, Amen!

Lord, in thy mercy grant us peace throughout all genera\ons. Thou art alone our sword and shield, Lord who dost guide the na\ons. Defend us, O God, we pray thee.

We pray for the church and the world Liturgist:

(prayers for the church and the world)

All:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into tempta3on, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
