This weekend the student ministry was honored to have 2 former Eau Gallie interns back, but serving in a much different capacity. Nick O'Brien was a youth, a youth intern, then a youth worship director, and finally a Contemporary service team member. He helps lead Rise Worship Band who is a collection of imperfect people with a perfect Savior, wanting nothing more than to put His glorious name on display with every string they play and every note they sing. Former youth Kyle Nelson, Cris O'Brien, and Samantha Dahl all are members of Rise. Its a joy to see these young people serving and coming "home" to help raise the next generation. This morning our D-Now speaker and former youth intern Raleigh Sadler will be joining us to bring us God's Word. Raleigh has led a few D-Now weekends for our students over the years. Raleigh was actually in Pastor Matt's very first youth ministry 21 years ago. He would go on to UCF and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a passion for college ministry earning his Masters of Divinity. Along the way God gave him a different vision. Go to New York City. Raleigh Sadler's passion now is to see people fight human trafficking by loving those most vulnerable. As a speaker, his work has taken him to universities and churches across the country speaking on how the Christian faith frees us to explore justice and mercy in our communities. With that said, he believes that the church should be leading the way in the fight against human trafficking. The local church, he says, best fights human trafficking by loving those vulnerable to it. With this message, He has worked with the Price of Life Invitational, New York City Urban Project, the MNYBA, the New York State Antitrafficking Coalition, Restore NYC, City Serve, as well as several other justice and mercy organizations. He currently leads the Let My People Go movement, which challenges leaders to do justice though innovation and collaboration with the Gospel as their motivation. He believes strongly that the world will not see an end to the problem of human trafficking until the local church rises up against it . We are excited to have Raleigh with us this morning and are extremely proud of the work he continues to do.
