I want to thank Bro. Sam Coleman for his work on behalf of our church concerning the feeding of the 5,000. I also thank all of you that helped out, whether by collecting corn, organizing food bags or serving the meal at Refuge Church. Believe it or not, today is the beginning of our Christmas celebration at Second Baptist. I am excited to begin this season’s sermon series, “Home for Christmas”. Each Sunday until the end of the year we will look to God’s word for direction and encouragement as it relates to the home and family. Along with Christmas comes one of the most important times of the year in Southern Baptist Churches. For the next month we will be collecting our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, of which 100% will go directly to our full-time missionaries. Each Sunday we will highlight the work of the International Mission Board (IMB) and how your gift makes it possible to carry the gospel to the nations.
