Friday 1st March 2019 Dear Parents Learning update this week … This week we have thought about what we know about food and what we would like to find out. We have talked and written about foods we like and have learnt about the eatwell plate. We have been using our senses to explore different fruits and vegetables and have done some observational drawing. We learnt how to get ready for cooking and enjoyed making toast talking about how the bread changes. In our Maths we have been ordering numbers within 20 and estimating. We have enjoyed l4ots of time outside in the sunshine. Next week we will be … Looking at the story ‘The Tiger who came to tea.’ We will be looking at what tigers really like to eat. In our Maths we will be learning how to double numbers. We will be talking about Pancake Day and Ash Wednesday and will be making pancake batter as our cooking activity, using the whisk to mix the ingredients. We will also be making pictures with food and learning about the artist Arcimboldo. On Friday we will be celebrating World Book Day. In our phonics we will be looking at the sounds er, ear, air and the tricky word they.
