Remoji: Lesson 2 – Sept 15/16 Group Time Guide: 1-3rd Grade

Group Time Guide Supplies Needed: A puzzle piece, puzzle box.

1. Getting Started

Tell kids to meet someone new, and talk about this question: What would be the best superpower to have?

2. Discussion Questions

• What problem were they having in The Source? • What could you do to help Trixie? • Are there other ways you help someone who feels like they aren’t good enough? How?

3. Hands-On Option

Look Up and Read: Ephesians 2:19- How does God want people to feel: left out, or included? Do This: Show kids the process of looking up a verse. Show the Table of Contents, the book name, the chapter, and verse. Do This: Show kids a piece of the puzzle. Ask them what it is a picture of. Let them guess, then talk about how we can’t know exactly what the picture is of. Say This: That puzzle piece is like how we see ourselves sometimes. Sometimes people will say mean things, or be unkind to us, and that hurts. Sometimes we may wonder if God really has a plan for us. What we have to remember, though, is that God sees the whole picture. Do This: Show kids the puzzle box. God knows why you’re here, and has a great plan that you are a part of! God made you just the way you are for an important reason.

4. Wrap-Up and Prayer

Ask: What was the best part of your week? What was something tough that happened this week? Do This: Pray with the kids. If they’ve mentioned things that would be good to talk to God about, you can talk about them in your prayer.
