Keynote Speaker: Danielle A. Lloyd, MPH is the vice president for policy development and analysis at Premier healthcare alliance. She leads Premier’s policy analysis and development, which includes developing comments on federal legislative and regulatory proposals, creating hospital-specific impact tools for member hospitals, educating members of recent changes, and research around the alignment of financial incentives to improve healthcare quality and reduce costs. Danielle was formerly with the American Hospital Association where she served as senior associate director for policy focusing on the areas of Medicare acute inpatient, rural and psychiatric hospital payment. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in public health from the University of California, Berkeley.

Representatives from participating hospitals and colleges are encouraged to bring posters depicting innovative quality improvement initiatives in place at their facility. Please note that the standard poster size of 36 inches high by 42 inches wide is encouraged, as space is limited for larger poster formats. If you plan to display a poster at the program, please arrive at the program check-in area no later than 7:30 AM.

Program Purpose/Target Audience

The purpose of this program is to provide a collaborative overview of innovative quality improvement initiatives and evidence based practices that have been demonstrated to improve patient outcomes, positively impacting value based purchasing scores and promoting nursing excellence. The target audience for this program includes nurse clinicians, educators and administrators.

Program Objectives

Upon completion of this program, the participants will be able to: 1. Describe best-practice models of quality improvement currently in place relevant to nursing clinical practice, education, and administration. 2. Critically analyze the significance of pay for performance programs from a quality and safety prospective. 3. Explain the correlation between value-based purchasing and improved overall performance by health care providers. 4. Outline evidence-based methods of translating value-based purchasing from concept to the bedside. 5. Recognize the significance of collaboration between academia and nursing practice from a healthcare quality standpoint.

Enrollment and Tuition/ Registration Information

Pre-registration is required. Enrollment is limited and early registration is recommended. Please note that the deadline for receipt of registration is October 29, 2013. Tuition for the one-day program is $90 for early-bird registration (prior to October 15, 2013) or $100 for regular registration. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
