Vineyard Church of Columbus Position Description Title: Research Assistant to Rich Nathan Reporting Relationship: Rich Nathan, Senior Pastor Classification: Non-‐Exempt, Full-‐time, Wage Department: Senior Pastor Overall Responsibility: • The Research Assistant’s job is to aid the Senior Pastor with gathering information and resources as he prepares his sermons, conference talks, articles, and other speaking and writing engagements. Responsibilities: • Research (commentaries, dictionaries, articles, books, newspapers, old sermons, illustrations, etc.) • Assist in the coordination of sermon series follow-‐up events with relevant departments (seminars, workshops, classes, etc.) • Send out Rich’s monthly congregational email and keep the email database updated • Edit sermon transcripts for the web • Update Rich’s personal blog and occasionally other social media outlets (min. technical experience required) • Lead a Vineyard Columbus small group Qualifications & Expectations • The candidate must profess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and commit to a lifestyle of spiritual growth and maturity. • The candidate is expected to pursue membership at Vineyard Columbus. • The candidate must be highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills. • The candidate must be detail oriented. • The candidate must fit theologically within empowered evangelicalism. • The candidate must have a heart for social justice. • The ideal candidate would have a strong sense of calling to either plant a church or be a senior pastor in the Vineyard. • The ideal candidate would preferably have some previous ministry leadership experience. • The ideal candidate would preferably have a Master of Divinity or a Master of Arts degree in a related field. Terms of Employment • The new hire will start in July of 2014. • The job commitment is for 2 years. • The job is non-‐exempt, full-‐time, and salaried with benefits.
