Teams often choose to wear something to help them stand out in the crowd! What should I bring? We encourage you to bring a water bottle. We have four waves at our starting line; our GOTR participants will have a sticker on the front of their bib to indicate their wave. Huron Valley Ambulance service will be on site at all times in case of an emergency. How do I find my daughter after the 5k event? We strongly encourage you to register to run/walk with your daughter. Participating with her is a great way to model healthy behavior and support her in achieving her goal. If you, or someone else from your family, are unable to participate with your daughter, let her coach know. Each team will have a coach who will be a 'sweeper' and stay with the very last girl to ensure that every girl on their team has finished the 5k. We have course marshals all along the 3.1-mile course to
ensure that our participants are supervised at all times. We encourage you to make a meet-up plan with your girl prior to the event so you both know where to go when she finishes. What if I cannot find my daughter/parent? Go to the pink Girls on the Run tent in the Team Meet Up Area’s parking lot. This is the Information table and a volunteer will arrange for an announcement to be made over the sound system. Every GOTR participant will also have her parent/guardian’s name and phone number on the back of her bib number, and the Information volunteer will have a phone available to call that number to reach the parent/guardian listed. What time will the event finish? We encourage spectators and participants to stay and cheer on the finishers until WonderGirl crosses the finish line. This teaches our girls to support her teammates and practice good sportsmanship. •
Allow runners to pass on the left.
•
Please pass slower runners/walkers on the left.
