2016 Tournament Rules May 27th – 29th, 2016 1. Warm – Up: No infield warm ups 2. Metal Cleats: No metal cleats will be permitted for play. 3. Home/Visitor: teams will be designated either home or away by a coin toss at the plate meeting at the start of each game. FOR PLAYOFF GAMES ONLY – the higher placing team from the round robin standings will be the home team. In the event the two teams were tied in their age division a coin toss will take place at home plate prior to the start of the game by the plate umpire. 4. Line Up Cards: Must be completed in full prior to the game starting. White copy goes to the plate umpire, one copy goes to the other team and one copy stays with your team. Universal Substitution Rules in effect (please see page 2). 5. Player Pick Ups: if teams are picking up players for this tournament – players must be present on your roster; players not on team’s official rosters may be disqualified from playing. Also, teams are not allowed to pick up players from higher divisions (division 2 teams picking up division 1 players; pee wee teams picking up bantam players). 6. Game Time Limits: Mite/Squirt 1 hour 30 minutes; Peewee/Bantam/Midget 1 hour and 45 minutes (unless altered due to weather), with no new inning to start after 1 hour 15 minutes (Mite/Squirt); 1 hour and 30 minutes (Peewee/Bantam/Midget) – Umpire to monitor the scheduled start and finish. Once the game is 1 hour and 45 minutes old, the umpire will call the game regardless of circumstances. The score will revert to the last completed inning. When the home team is leading while at bat in the final inning, the game is complete and will not “finish their bats” ALL GAMES MUST START AND END ON TIME. 7. MITE AND SQUIRT ***MAXIMUM 4 RUNS PER INNING*** ; PEEWEE/BANTAM/MIDGET ***MAXIMUM 5 RUNS PER INNING*** 8. Mite and Squirt - No Dropped third strike / infield fly / charged conference. 9. OPEN INNING (N/A for mite and squirt division): Prior to the 1hr and 30 minute point, the umpire will make every effort to predict and declare a final open inning which should be in progress at the 1hr and 30 minute mark. Once the final inning has been declared, there will be no subsequent innings played regardless of the time remaining in the game. If the umpire fails to declare an opening inning prior to the 1h and 30 minute mark, there will be no open inning and the inning in progress becomes the final inning. 10. Dugout Etiquette: Upon completion of your games, please vacate the dugout immediately so that the teams playing after you can get prepared. We would also ask that you keep the dugouts neat and tidy for the next team to use. 11. Games Called by the Umpire: if an inning cannot be completed because of weather conditions or time limits, the final score will be the score recorded for the last complete inning played unless the home team has the lead at while at bat, and is thus declared the winner. If the home team has won the game, it is the score at completion of the game that is used for Runs For and Against calculation. 12. Tie Games: For round robin games – games tied when a game is completed will be considered complete and tie will NOT be played out. For play off games – games tied at the completion of the allotted number of innings or the time limit must be played out to declare a winner.
