ADVENTURE!

&

Important Event for Families! WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7, 2018... We will NOT be having our REGULARLY SCHEDULED NIGHT of SHAPE & Z56 ADVENTURE!

Rather, we will be participating in a SERVICE PROJECT entitled Heart-to-Heart. This event is for FAMILIES—so, please plan on coming as a whole family group. We will actually get started around 6:15...so, plan on arriving a little later than usual. The night will be spent packing “care/hygiene packages” for people who were hit with one of the hurricanes last year.

If you plan on coming, please RSVP to let me know (space will be limited)… RSVP to Andrew Poe at [email protected]

UPCOMING Z56 FAMILY EVENT... Sunday, March 4 4:30-6:30pm

BOYS-TO-MEN This is a class that provides… · ·

th

SKATING at the FRENCHTOWN SKATING RINK!

·

A chance for fathers and sons to begin the conversation about the time in life when boys grow to become men; A time for a thorough investigation of all the aspects of puberty: the changes boys go through physically, emotionally, and spiritually; A safe place to discuss sex– seeing how wonderful and exciting it is when approached in a Christ-centered way.

Fathers would be encouraged (but not required) to attend. We would like to offer the following classes:

We have a private party scheduled including DJ, games, and the whole rink to ourselves! Bring cash for skate rentals ($2 for quad; $3 for inline) and the snack bar!

· one for boys who are 11-14 years old; · and one for older teens, 15 years old and above (the class for older boys would be modified to include other aspects of sexual temptations)

Again, this is a Z56 Event for the WHOLE FAMILY! This will NOT be a “drop-off” event… that means at least ONE PARENT must stay. But, you can feel free to bring the entire family out for the FUN!

The dates for these classes will be determined based on your response & interest. Please email Andrew Poe

Leadership We just wrapped up our seminar on LEADERSHIP, looking at the different men and women in the Old Testament who were strong leaders...but perhaps not in the ways we would expect “strong leaders” to act. We looked at a leader and a character trait he/she demonstrated...then looked at how Jesus lived out that trait in the true and better way. AND—thus—we too can live as that strong leader through the Holy Spirit. The leaders we looked at were… ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨

MOSES… DEBORAH… DAVID… ESTHER… NEHEMIAH…

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is

JESUS CHRIST I Corinthians 3:11

humility decisiveness repentance bold courage faithfulness

Next week we will review all of these leaders. The following week we will have our service project. Then, we will jump into our next unit of study for the spring!

Stay tuned!

Reminder… Should we have any more inclement weather, please check the WEBSITE or call the CHURCH OFFICE to find out if Shape/Z56 Adventure is cancelled. Hopefully, we have seen the worst of it...but March is still coming!
