2017 CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AWARDS ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Saturday, October 21, 2017

Nominations for the Spruce Grove & District Chamber of Commerce Awards will be evaluated on the following criteria: BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

 Displays superior customer service and active

MARKETER OF THE YEAR 

strategy that has had significant impact on the

involvement in community service

organization

 Demonstrates significant achievement in business (growth, sales, and expansion)

 Minimum three (3) years in business  Must be a member in good standing with the Spruce



Embarked on the strategy within the last two (2) years



Must be 51% Alberta owned and operated



Employed by or be a member in good standing of the Spruce Grove & District Chamber of Commerce.

 Must be 51% Alberta owned and operated with significant operations in the immediate trading area and/or with

COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR 

major business activity within the province of Alberta NEW BUSINESS OF THE YEAR 

In existence, no longer than 36 months (under current

Demonstrates significant achievement in business (growth, new product, sales, and expansion)



Reflects the outstanding spirit and success of the municipality’s business community



Does not have to be a member of the Spruce Grove & District Chamber of Commerce.

An individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the community of Spruce Grove through volunteer service



An individual who volunteers time with a local school, government entity, sports or cultural organization or any

ownership) 

Developed and implemented a successful marketing

other non-profit organization or any combination thereof 

Demonstrates exceptional commitment, dedication, service, creativity, cooperation or leadership



Serves as a role model for others in their community and inspires others to engage in volunteer service



Exemplifies the spirt of community service



Must not be paid for their activities

MANAGER OF THE YEAR 

Individual who performs in a management position and acts in a supervisory and guiding capacity to employees



Demonstrates outstanding customer service and enthusiasm for their business



Demonstrates outstanding leadership ability



Active involvement in business or professional association



Active involvement in community service organizations



Business must be based or have significant operations in the Spruce Grove & District business community

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD 

Licensed business operating in Spruce Grove & District region



A business who consistently offers exemplary customer service that exceeds typical expectations for their industry or sector



A business that provides a product or service the community needs and wants



Actively participates in the support of community events either through volunteer staff support or contributions to the event

EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR 

Individual in a hired position who performs beyond the



invited to vote for the winner

“call of duty” 

Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment to the business in the hired position



Employed in the business for more than (6) months



Employed by a member in good standing of the Spruce Grove & District Chamber of Commerce



Requires a letter of support from management of the business

Finalists will be announced on-line and the public will be
