Greetings from the Lorain County Medical Society! The Lorain County Medical Society is in its 123rd year of service to Lorain County, and we are honored once again to be a resource for our community in all matters of health. Our members span all specialties and health systems, and come together to ensure that each patient gets the right treatment at the right time for the right reason. Within this annual physician directory, you will find physicians from a multitude of different medical specialties that have chosen to be a member of the Lorain County Medical Society, and in doing so, are working in partnership with their colleagues to provide a cohesive healthcare network throughout Lorain County to all its
residents. The Lorain County Medical Society and its members also function as a charitable organization. Each year, the Lorain County Medical Society Scholarship Foundation distributes more than $30,000 in academic scholarships to Lorain County Students who are pursuing a career in the medical field and intend on returning to Lorain County to work. The Lorain County Medical Society Foundation provides charitable funds to a variety of Lorain County organizations that serve the needs of our community. LORAIN COUNTY MEDICAL SCHOLARSHIPS The Lorain County Medical Scholarship Foundation was developed in 1963 for the purpose of establishing a fund to assist Lorain County students who were preparing for a career in the health or medical allied fields. The concept of a Scholarship Foundation grew out of the Lorain County Society’s deep interest in the general health and well being of the residents of Lorain County. The members of the Medical Society wanted to ensure a sufficient number of properly trained and qualified persons to adequately serve the needs of the County.
HISTORY OF ESTABLISHED SCHOLARSHIPS: The Scholarship Foundation has been the beneficiary of many gifts made in memory of beloved family members or well respected colleagues of the medical community. The Scholarship Foundation includes eleven separate funds plus the General Fund, all of which are earmarked for scholarship grants to Lorain County residents.
