Best luck in new Mall Cop careers Recent ramblings of the Crosby police leadership on the radio, spoke of how terrible arbitration is. In Feb. 2019, the MN Supreme Court reversed a court of appeals decision that overturned an arbitration report. In the analysis, the court stated: Generally, arbitrators serve as the “final judge of both law and fact, including the interpretation of the terms of any contract”. The court’s decision reinforces the validity and importance of binding arbitration. BMS Case No 17-PA-0260 (read at www.NewsHopper.net) found the police leadership lied, distorted the truth, altered documents, conducted biased, prejudiced investigations and interviewed their own officers

using criminal tactics. The police leadership stated it is difficult to drive bad cops out of the business. That is true. Letters to the editor exposing them takes time — effort that is well spent. Crosby is lucky, the officers in the PD are professional, credible, and have earned respect, despite the leadership dragging them into their fight looking for empathy for their egregious acts. Three failed attempts to prosecute a private citizen brings their level of expertise to the Keystone Cop average, as it keeps people laughing. The tragedy, they have cost the citizen thousands of dollars to defend himself, the officer has

been damaged. I agree with the police leadership, bad cops need to be terminated, the city council and Mayor terminated the wrong ones. Best of luck to both in the private sector, enjoy your new career as mall cops. Mall of America, West Gate Mall, Ridgedale Mall could use the leaderships expertise for loss prevention. They would succeed as Mall Cops. It should be noted that the losing council in the MN Supreme Court reversed decision is Crosby’s current labor attorney. Kelly Avelsgard Concerned Observer Deerwood

Gail played four sports in high school (volleyball, basketball, track and softball) and later played basketball at St. Cloud State University and Brainerd Community College, where they were state champions. She went on to spend a year in Sweden as a foreign exchange student and then got trained and was the first woman pipefitter at the former paper mill in Brainerd. When the mill closed she joined the local union and went back to school in Michigan to become a plumber. She also took training in medical gas fittings. She works for RJ Mechanical now, out of Mora, and travels around the area and Twin Cities for various projects. “I’ve been lucky for the last year or so because there has been work in the Brainerd area – at the Brainerd and Crosby hospitals and the Crow Wing County Museum.” When not working, Gail is a self-proclaimed “junk collector.” She loves to preserve items from the past and attends all sorts of sales and actions, looking for items to salvage that can be used in gardens. So, the plan was to jump into the different ways to detox your body and begin this path to health. But… you could experience some turbulence you may want to know about BEFORE you begin. Often times, clearing the toxins that have been making us sick and/or taking us away from being in our best state of health, can make us temporarily feel withdrawal symptoms or flu-like symptoms. Very commonly, toward the beginning of your detoxifying program, you could experience an array of symptoms. Don’t fret! This often happen as our body is taken away from things that are addictive like caffeine, alcohol, or nicotine. This can even occur when foods we have an allergy or sensitivity to are taken away. All in all, this shouldn’t be a worry as it can be a sign we’re dumping toxins and moving away from things that are making us sick. Here’s a brief list of the signs and symptoms you may get: • Nausea • Headaches • Fatigue • Sleep issues (too much or too little) • Irritability

• Achiness and flu-like symptoms • Offensive body odor • Bad breath • Constipation • Itchy skin These can last for several days. But stay strong, these will improve! Sometimes things such as caffeine, alcohol and sugars may require us to slowly reduce our intake prior to and during the program. Other things can help as well. Drinking filtered water, 6-8 glasses, can help with being adequately hydrated during the process. It’s also a good idea to stay away from plastics such as plastic water bottles of Styrofoam coffee cups and lids. Getting plenty of rest and sleep can also help. If you have access to a sauna, this can help greatly. Certain nutrients such as vitamin C can help dampen symptoms. Next week, we’ll show a variety of ways to detoxify.
