UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH Each voting member of Convention must select one lay person to represent the Diocese as a Trustee to the University of the South.

ROGER BOYNTON Parish Involvement/Activities I have served on the Vestry for many years and have been Sr. Warden as well as Jr. Warden. I support the Women of the Church in their endeavors which includes the Chicken Salad Sandwich Sale as the "delivery man". I have been part of a group that led music for several years when we had no organist. 



Diocesan Involvement/Activities

I have served on the Diocesan Council, been part of the search committee when Bishop McPherson was elected. Cursillo is important to me and my involvement has included serving on the Secretariat, numerous staff positions including Lay Rector and Music Director on several different occasion. I served on the Diocesan committee which put on the meeting "Blowing Up the Church." 

Wider Church Involvement/Activities

I have helped support and change a homeless man's life to allow him a travel trailer which my wife and I purchased for him and as a lesson in responsibility had him pay us back over a period of many years. I support the twice annually food baskets that we give to the Faith House and additionally to the giving tree for Faith House Children. I have numerous organizations that receive financial support from my wife and I. Member of St. Paul’s, Abbeville



Personal Involvement/Activities

I love to travel and have been to many exciting places.Most recently to the Greenbriar in West Virginia which has a most interesting history including serving as a 1000 bed hospital during WWII and having a bunker installed and kept secret for many years as the place where congress would move to if we were attacked. I am proud to honor our veterans and troops by putting out along the sidewalks near my home some 150 small flags and eight larger flags on trees on both sides of the street in front of my home.

Smith Choir Scholarship co-founder and fundraiser - 2013-13 St. Mark's Community Ministries committee - 2005-07 St. Mark's Cathedral staff administrative assistant, Episcopal Relief and Development Coordinator, Hurricane Katrina Relief Coordinator, Fuller Center for Housing volunteer coordinator - 1991-2003 Church of the Holy Cross vestry and choir. 

Diocesan Involvement/Activities - 2018 General Convention Deputy - Diocesan trustee to The University of the South, Sewanee, TN - 2005-07 Hurricane Disaster Relief 

Wider Church Involvement/Activities - Province VII lay representative to the Joint Nominating Committee for the Election of the Presiding Bishop - Province VII Council lay member-at-large - Sewanee Growth and Development Committee - Founding Member of the Society for the Sewanee Church Music Conference a newly formed organization supporting the work of the Conference by contributing to the endowment which will help to fund scholarships, special concerts, and other future conference activities. 

Personal Involvement/Activities In addition to actively volunteering in church and community activities, Andrea fills her spare time with travel, fitness, and supporting the lives and work of her husband, Mike, and her children, Michael and Lauren. Andrea is also a member of the Prisma Vocal Ensemble, Shreveport/Bossier's first semi-professional chorus. 

LUCY SHACKLEFORD Parish Involvement/Activities Served two terms on the Vestry. Have served on Altar Guild and as lay reader.





Diocesan Involvement/Activities

Served two terms as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Grace Episcopal School in Monroe. I chaired the school's annual fundraiser in 2006 and raised $94,000.00 for the school. 

Wider Church Involvement/Activities

My husband and I served as "area representatives" for Episcopal High School in Alexandria,Va. Our oldest daughter graduated from an Episcopal school and our youngest daughter currently attends Sewanee. 

Personal Involvement/Activities

I obtained my law degree, with honors, from the University of Mississippi, after completing Millsaps College. I have served on the Board of the Northeast Louisiana Art Council as well as the Twin City Arts Foundation Council Board of Directors where I chaired their annual fundraiser in 2007. I also served on the committee organizing the grand opening of the Morehouse Parish Agricultural Center, Louisiana's then second largest arena.

DISCIPLINARY BOARD Each voting member of Convention must select one cleric to serve a 3 year term on the Disciplinary Board.
