Road Trip: Lesson 4 – July 13/14 and 20/21 Group Time Guide: Toddlers and 36+

Open with Play Time Welcome each Kid-O into the room as they arrive. Help them find a toy or game to encourage engagement during play time.

___:20 Music & Worship: Pick a song Have Kid-Os use scarves, ribbons, or instruments as you lead them in singing. Encourage the Kid-Os to use their hands, feet, and voices as they worship God!

___:25 Group Time Follow the Group Time Guide on the next page.

___:35 Coloring Hand out the Bible story coloring sheets and coloring utensils. Encourage the Kid-Os to color a picture to take home!

End with Play Time Allow the Kid-Os to play or color until they are picked up. Before each Kid-O leaves, give them a question sticker and match their name tag to the grown-up’s security tag.

Group Time Guide Supplies Needed: Optional props from rooms

1. Snack Circle Up: Have all Kid-Os sit in one section of the room for story time. Do This: Give kids hand sanitizer, then hand each of them a snack.

2. Bible Story: The Story of Micah Do This: Read through the Bible Story at least one time. If Kid-Os are engaged, feel free to read it a second time.

3. Hands-On Option: Good Choices Do This: Read Kid-Os the possible choices. (Optional add: Find and use props as visuals from around the room if possible.) Tell kids to clap and/or shout, “yay!” if it’s a good choice and to shake their head and/or say, “no way!” if it’s a bad choice. Help by giving the correct answer when needed. • (Optional prop: crayons) Choosing to color on the wall. Answer: No way! • (Optional prop: crayons) Choosing to color on your coloring page. Answer: Yay! • (Optional prop: doll) Taking a doll from another Kid-O. Answer: No way! • (Optional prop: doll) Sharing toys with Kid-Os around you. Answer: Yay! • (Optional prop: blocks) Knocking over someone’s block tower. Answer: No way! • (Optional prop: blocks) Helping a friend build a cool tower. Answer: Yay! The Point: God can help us make good choices every day!

4. Stickers and Prayer Do This: Give each kid a sticker. Do This: Pray! “Dear God, we love you. Thank you for loving us. Please help us make good choices. Amen.”
