My Problems Choices – 3 March 22/23, 2014 Pastor Michael Rochelle

“In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, ‘God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.’ Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.” I Peter 5:5-11 (NIV)

I. Surrender Your WILL To God “In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, ‘God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.’” I Peter 5:5 (NIV) “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” I Peter 5:6 (NIV) "And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name." Philippians 2:8-9 (NKJV) II. Send Your WORRY To God “Cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you.” I Peter 5:7 (NIV) A. Cast Your Cares CONCLUSIVELY  Cast means to THROW "Then they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own garments on the colt, and they set Jesus on him." Luke 19:35 (WBT)  Cast means to make a DEPOSIT B. Cast Your Cares COMPLETELY "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:22 (NKJV) C. Cast Your Cares CONFIDENTLY

III. Strengthen Your WALK With God Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. I Peter 5:8 (NIV) A. Be Serious About The Devil's REALITY "the accuser of the brethren." Revelation 12:10 (NKJV) B. Be Sensitive To The Devil's VORACITY C. Be Steadfast Against The Devil's HOSTILITY “Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” I Peter 5:9 (NIV) "Resist the devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7 (NIV) IV. Sanctify Your WORSHIP Of God “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever.” Amen. I Peter 5:10-11 (NIV) A. The Grace We Now ENJOY B. The Grief We Must ENDURE C. The Glory We Will ENTHRONE
