Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces the amount of acid in the stomach. *** Phenytoin, a drug commonly taken to prevent seizures in epilepsy, may surprisingly protect the eyesight of people with multiple sclerosis (MS),according to a study presented at the American Academy of Neurology’s 67th Annual Meeting. About half of people with MS experience at some point in their life a condition called acute optic neuritis, in which the nerve carrying vision from the eye to the brain gets inflamed. The condition can cause sudden total or partial blindness, foggy or blackened vision and pain. Even though eyesight can recover eventually, each attack still damages the nerve and the eye. The study found on average that the group who took phenytoin had 30 per cent less damage to the nerve fiber layer compared to those who received the placebo. Back in the mid-90’s the Atlanta Braves were struggling through a highly contested World Series. You see the Braves were a franchise who had never won a World Series. In fact, no Atlanta franchise had won a title in football, baseball, hockey or basketball. It was rumored that a lady placed a hex on Atlanta because of where they had built their stadium, therefore cursing them to endless years of futility.

John Smoltz, who was one of Atlanta’s Ace pitchers (in fact he’s had more success in the post-season than any of the Braves great pitchers) was having problems with his lower back.
