Worth It: Lesson 2 – Oct 27/28 Group Time Guide: 1-3rd Grade

Group Time Guide Supplies Needed: Helping pictures

1. Getting Started Tell kids to meet someone new, and talk about this question: Have you ever given away something special? What was it?

2. Discussion Questions • What did Gabby want to do for Trixie in the Source? What do you think Bowie should do? • What’s something someone else has given you? • Can you think of anyone that doesn’t have something they need, like food, or a home? What could you and I do to help them?

3. Hands-On Option Look Up and Read: Acts 4:32. This verse tells us the first church shared all of the things they owned. Do This: Show kids the process of looking up a verse. Show the Table of Contents, the book name, the chapter, and verse. Do This: Show kids pictures of people in need: homeless person, a kid all alone on the playground, a teacher struggling to maintain control of a room, a kid who needs food, someone who is sick, kid having a bad day. Discuss different ways your group could help each of those people. Have fun! Come up with creative, big, small, and wild ways to help people.

4. Wrap-Up and Prayer Ask: What was the best part of your week? What was something tough that happened this week? Do This: Pray with the kids. If they’ve mentioned things that would be good to talk to God about, you can talk about them in your prayer.
