Worth It: Lesson 2 – Oct 27/28 Group Time Guide: 4-5th Grade

Group Time Guide Supplies Needed: People in need pictures.

1. Getting Started Tell kids to meet someone new, and talk about this question: Have you ever given away something special? What was it?

2. Discussion Questions • What did Gabby want to do for Trixie in the Source? What do you think Bowie should do? • What’s a great gift you’ve been given? • Can you think of anyone that doesn’t have something they need, like food, or a home? What could you and I do to help them? • Can you think of anyone that might feel lonely or left out? What could you and I do to help them?

3. Hands-On Option Look Up and Read: Acts 4:32. This verse tells us the first church shared all of the things they owned. Do This: Show kids pictures of people in need: homeless person, a kid all alone on the playground, a teacher struggling to maintain control of a room, a kid who needs food, someone who is sick, kid looking sad. Discuss different ways your group could help each of those people. Have fun! Come up with creative, big, small, and wild ways to help people.

4. Wrap-Up and Prayer Ask: What are you most excited for this next week? Is there anything coming up that you’re worried or uneasy about? Do This: Pray with the kids. If they’ve mentioned things that would be good to talk to God about, you can talk about them in your prayer.
