Easter Musical! Series at a Glance for Kid-O-Deo (continued) Lesson 1: The Cast Who are some of your friends? Jesus had friends, too. We’ll see how Jesus treated someone who was mean to Him, and learn just how amazing Jesus’ love is for every person. Lesson 5: Act II We’ve learned a lot about Jesus, but one thing He did is greater than any other. We know Jesus is God’s Son, and choose to follow Him, because He gave His life for us. Find out the full story this week, as we celebrate Easter! Lesson 6: All the World Did you know that you’re part of Jesus’ story, too? Introduction and Rules

2:00

Welcome everyone! My name is _______, and I’m super excited to be here with all of you! Last week we celebrated Easter together, and this week we’re in the last week of our series called “Easter Musical.” We’ll sing, dance, and hear more about the amazing true story of God’s Son, Jesus. Before we start, though, there are three important things for you to learn and remember. They’re our Kid-O-Deo rules! Rule #1: When I’m talking you are listening! Everyone put on your listening ears, and on the count of three, let’s practice listening! Rule #2: Keep your hands and feet to yourself! Do a little clap and place your hands in your lap! Rule #3: Stay in your spot! Let’s take our special glue sticks and put some glue on our spot to help us stay in the right place! Wonderful! Those rules are great. They help us pay attention and keep us from distracting others, so we can all have fun. Easter Musical Lesson 6 April 27/28 5

Bible Adventure

5:00

I love singing with you, Kid-O’s! You can sit down. We celebrate on Easter because of something amazing one very special person did. That person is God’s Son, Jesus. This series is called “Easter Musical,” which means we need to play some instruments! Let’s see, do you think you could all help me learn how to play some different instruments? YES! Great, what instruments do you think we’ll need? Let’s find out what the first one is. Tuba Image

Can you show me how to play the tuba by pretending you’re playing one? Ready, set, go! Tuba SFX

Great job! Now that we’ve got the tuba down, let’s see what we can learn when we go on a Bible Adventure! Bible Adventure Jingle Do This: Show kids the Bible. Easter Musical Lesson 6 April 27/28 6

Kid-Os, the Bible is a book all about God. One of the most amazing things God ever did was send His Son, Jesus to live on earth. While He was here, Jesus made some friends, who talked with Him, followed Him, and learned from Him. Jesus’ friends wrote down the things He really said and did, and we can still read about those things in the Bible! Today we get to hear about something Jesus wants everyone who follows Him to do. Do This: Get the Bible storybook out and sit down in the chair.

This story you are going to hear comes from the Bible, but we use this storybook because the pictures help us imagine what it might have looked like back when the Bible was written. The pictures you see in here are the same as the ones on the screen. Let’s get started!

Do This: Have kids help you “turn” the pages on the screen with an exaggerated arm wave. Picture 1: The Resurrection

Jesus showed everyone that He was God’s Son when He died and came back to life. Picture 2: Jesus and the disciples inside

Lots of people saw Jesus after He came back to life. He talked with them, especially His friends the disciples. Picture 3: Jesus and disciples outside

One day, Jesus gave His disciples a mission. He wanted them to tell everyone on earth how much He loves them. Picture 4: Jesus goes back to heaven

Then, God took Jesus back to heaven. He’s still living there with God today! Series Title Slide: Easter Musical

Jesus wanted all of His followers to share His story, and tell people how much He loves them. Kid-Os, Jesus wants you and me to do that, too! There are so many ways we can tell others about Jesus. Easter Musical Lesson 6 April 27/28 7

We’re going to sing our musical memory verse about Jesus, but first, we get to learn another instrument! Can you help me learn the drums? Drums Image

Let’s play in three, two, one, go! Drums SFX

Great job! I think we’re ready to move on to the memory verse.

Memory Verse

3:00

Memory Verse Jingle (Auto-advance) – Memory Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17- When anyone lives in Christ, the new creation has come.

This verse is about what happens when we follow Jesus. Do This: Read the verse from the screen.

The word “Christ” is another word for Jesus. This verse means that when we’re living for Jesus, it’s like we’re new and different from before we started following Him. Since we’re being so musical today, we’re going to sing this verse together!

Do This: Practice the verse with the Kid-Os 2-3 times. Sing it all the way through for them before asking them to sing it with you. Sing it the verse to the tune of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” Know This: The verse with actions goes like this: (Open your Bibles) 2 Corinthians 5:17When anyone lives (point all around) in Christ (point upward), the new creation (lay back of hand in palm of other hand) has come (point to self).

Great job practicing your Memory Verse, Kid-Os!

Worship

Easter Musical Lesson 6 April 27/28 8

Jesus told His disciples to tell everyone how much He loves them. That’s what this song “Shout” is all about, how great it is to sing and shout about Jesus! Song 2: Shout

Try it Out

5:00

I love worshipping God with all of you, Kid-Os! Next, we get to practice what we’ve been learning as we “Try It Out!” Try it Out Jingle (Auto advance) Series Title Slide: Easter Musical

We get to make music again, let’s find out what instrument we’re using next. Trumpet Image

That’s a trumpet! Let’s practice playing our trumpets together. Trumpet SFX (5 seconds)

Great job! You can sit down. Have you ever seen a movie or a cartoon where they announced something really important with a trumpet? Sometimes, before a king, queen, or someone important talked, they would blow trumpets to make sure everyone was paying attention. Series Title Slide: Easter Musical

Easter Musical Lesson 6 April 27/28 9

That reminds me of the super important mission Jesus gave to us. He wants us to share Jesus’ story with everyone and tell them how much He loves them! We could get people’s attention with trumpets, but there are lots of other ways to share Jesus’ story, too. One of those is something every one of you is going to get with your groups today. Do This: Show Kid-Os the “Sharing Jesus’ story” tool.

This is a way you can tell someone the whole story of Jesus. Each of these pictures reminds us of an important part of the story. World image

This first picture is of our world. God made this whole world, and He made it so good. Kid-Os fighting image

When we did wrong things, though, we brought bad stuff called sin into this world, things like meanness, hurt, and hate. Cross image

That’s why God’s Son, Jesus, lived and died, to show us that even though we’ve done wrong things, God still loves us. Resurrection image

Then, Jesus came back to life! He is God’s Son, and He loves you so much. Series Title Slide: Easter Musical

You can share Jesus’ story with everyone! It’ so important to tell people how much Jesus loves them, and that He gave His life for them. If you have any questions about Jesus’ story, your group leaders would love to listen to you and answer your questions. Easter Musical Lesson 6 April 27/28 10

Right now, let’s learn one more instrument! Guitar Image

Can you play the guitar with me? Guitar SFX

Great job! Now it’s time to learn the Big Idea with Ranger Ron.

Prayer

2:00

I love singing and dancing with you, Kid-Os! God loves when you talk to him about whatever is important to you, because he cares about you. God will always listen when you talk to him, no matter what time it is, or where you are. Let’s talk to God for a moment right now! We’ll put our hands in our laps and close our eyes to help us focus on what we’re saying to God. If you want to, you can repeat this prayer after me. Dear God, we love you. Thank you for loving us. Help us to share Jesus’ story with everyone. Amen. Kid-O-Deo Slide

I have loved spending time with you, Kid-Os. Now it’s time for you to go back to your rooms where you will get into groups with your leader and other Kid-Os, have a snack, and do a fun activity. Have a great group time!
