Break open our hearts this morning to hear Your Word, O God. Let our fears be vanquished, our spirits restored! Come and let us worship with great joy! Let us drop the things of the past which weigh us down! God is about to do something new in our lives! Let God’s will become strong in our lives.

Call to Confession

Anita Parish

Prayer of Confession

Anita Parish

Forgiving God, We confess that we excuse ourselves from reaching out to those who need Your care. You tell us that there will always be people in need. With needs so great, we give up too quickly and fail to try to help our neighbors. (Silent confession)

Have mercy on us, and help us to change. Renew our determination to live as faithful followers, faithful disciples, faithful Christians. Help us to work with You for the well-being of Your creation, that the fortunes of all Your people may be restored. Amen.

Kyrie Lord, have mercy upon us. Christ, have mercy upon us. Lord, have mercy upon us.

Declaration of Forgiveness

Anita Parish

*Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

*The Passing of the Peace

Anita Parish

The peace of the Lord be with you always. And also with you. (During the Passing of the Peace, children are invited to come forward for the time with our young disciples.)

Lord, I Know I Been Changed

Lord, I know I been changed. The angels in the heaven signed my name. Wend down to the River Jordan, the water was chilly and cold. The water chilled my body, but the water didn’t touch my soul. Lord, I know I been changed. The angels in the heaven signed my name.

Prayer of Dedication (responsive)

Anita Parish

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise.

*Doxology Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise God all creatures here below; praise God above, ye heavenly hosts; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen

*Affirmation of Faith

The Apostle’s Creed Len Turner I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayers of the People & The Lord’s Prayer

Len Turner

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
