Remoji: Lesson 1 – Sept 8/9 Group Time Guide: 1-3rd Grade

Group Time Guide Supplies Needed: None

1. Getting Started

Tell kids to meet someone new, and talk about this question: What do you definitely not want to be when you grow up?

2. Discussion Questions • • • •

When did Gabby feel angry in The Source? When did she feel sad? Have you ever felt like others didn’t understand you? What happened? What do you think Gabby should do? How would you help someone who feels lonely or left out?

3. Hands-On Option

Look Up and Read: Hebrews 4:15. This says Jesus understands what we’re going through! Do This: Show kids the process of looking up a verse. Show the Table of Contents, the book name, the chapter, and verse. Get Together: This activity can show kids that there are others who understand what they are going through. You’ll ask kids a question, and they have to get in groups with others who have the same answer. After they get in a group, you could also have them share their favorite thing about that category. (Example: Favorite thing about having siblings or being an only child.) • Number of Siblings

• Favorite school subject

• Favorite Holiday

• Your Age

• Favorite Color

• Number of Pets

• Favorite Food

• Favorite season

• Favorite Animal

4. Wrap-Up and Prayer

Ask: What was the best part of your week? What was something tough that happened this week? Do This: Pray with the kids. If they’ve mentioned things that would be good to talk to God about, you can talk about them in your prayer.
