“Lord, Have Mercy”

CONFESSION Merciful God, we come to worship you at the beginning of this new year with hearts full of hopes, dreams, and resolutions. We long to be better people. We want to follow you more closely. We yearn for our faith to be stronger. Yet, we forget your unconditional love and your promises to make all things new. We fail to see you in the faces of those around us. We pay attention to the voices of our world and fail to heed the voice of the Messiah. Forgive us, O God, and restore us so that we may live as new creation. Amen.

LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
