THE ILLINOIS STATE TOLL HIGHWAY AUTHORITY ADVERTISEMENT FOR SEALED BIDS CONTRACT NO: I-15-4227 Sealed Proposals for the above numbered Contract as described below will be received by the Illinois Tollway at its offices, at 2700 Ogden Avenue, Downers Grove, Illinois 60515, until 10:30 AM, local time, April 14, 2015, at which time the Proposals will be opened and the bids read aloud. An optional pre-bid meeting is scheduled for April 1, 2015 at the Central Administration Building in Downers Grove, at 2700 Ogden Avenue. The meeting will be held in the Engineering Conference Room 207 at 10:00 AM. The work to be done under this Contract shall be started on or about June 23, 2015. All work under this Contract shall be completed by January 31, 2017. The work under this Contract shall consist of but is not limited to: installation of intermediate power distribution and communication (IPDC) facility buildings, emergency generators, ITS equipment cabinets, lane use control signs (LCS) for active traffic management, dynamic message signs (DMS), closed circuit television cameras (CCTV), microwave vehicle detection systems (MVDS), ramp detection, ITS galvanized steel poles, weigh-in-motion (WIM) system, all communication and power equipment and wiring to operate the ITS equipment, removal/relocation of existing ITS equipment, new fiber optic communication cable and network switches for the Tollway’s ITS and IT system, connection to the existing IT system via the Toll Plazas, traffic control and protection, and all other appurtenances and miscellaneous construction shown on the plans and within the special provisions. The work under this Contract is to be performed on the: Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90 between Mile Post 53.8 (Station 2803+00) and Mile Post 78.9 (Station 4127+00) in Cook and Kane Counties, Illinois. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the prime contractor must hold the IDOT prequalification category of 014, electrical. Bidders are also required to be registered, or submit evidence of application, with the Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR). There are NO EXCEPTIONS. Joint Ventures shall be limited to 3 individually IDOT-pre-qualified members. Please note that written or oral communications received by the Illinois Tollway in connection with this solicitation may be required to be reported to the Procurement Policy Board as required by law. This provision is not intended to prohibit communications with State employees regarding procurement matter, but rather only requires reporting of those communications when they occur.
