A Celebration of Heroes HEROES BREAKFAST–Tuesday March 14, 2017 LaHaye Student Union at Liberty University This event is designed to recognize those remarkable heroes in our area who have saved a life, performed an act of courage, or who unselfishly serve and give inspirational leadership to our community, while also raising much needed funds to continue the American Red Cross mission of providing disaster relief to those in their darkest hour. The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Your support of this important event enables us to continue to provide food, shelter and comfort to families affected by disasters, from home fires to hurricanes, and partners us in recognizing those who have made a difference in our communities. A Celebration of Heroes recognizes ordinary people for extraordinary service in the following ten categories: •  Community Impact • Education •  Emergency Responder •  Firefighter •  Good Samaritan •  Law Enforcement

• Medical • Military •  911 Dispatcher • Workplace •  Youth Award

The Red Cross is an essential human service agency in the Virginia Region, helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. The Red Cross is a highly effective organization through which neighbors help neighbors by contributing their skills as volunteers, financial support and their own blood. No other organization does as much to ensure safety and security in our communities. The Red Cross is chartered by the government to provide disaster relief, but does not receive federal or state funding. We rely on funding from individuals, corporations and foundations to support the work of the Red Cross. Recently, Charity Navigator gave the Red Cross the highest rating—an average of 91 cents on every dollar donated to the Red Cross is used for direct program support. Thank you in advance for your consideration of support as a corporate sponsor of A Celebration of Heroes. Through these partnerships, Red Cross will continue to strengthen the services we provide and enable us to always provide disaster preparedness and relief to our neighbors in need.
