A HEALING SPACE

Architect: Richard Shugar AIA, LEED AP Project Manager: Dannon Canterbury Associate AIA, LEED AP General Contractor: James Cody Completed 2011 Eugene, Oregon 5,360 sf commercial remodel

Existing Space An industrial warehouse located in a transitional neighborhood was the site of this full-scale interior remodel. A local Chiropractor was expanding

his

business

by

adding

other

practitioners to his practice, and needed additional space. When the warehouse became available, he saw the potential for a series of treatment rooms that could be assigned to the therapists. The space was designed to have characteristics and elements based on an abstracted concept of a Japanese village street.

We did extensive

research into Japanese building details to understand how to incorporate the essence of the details into the space.

Client Feedback “Having never worked with an architect I was nervous and a bit apprehensive about the process.  It ended up being a great experience. The team at 2fORM quickly saw the vision of what we wanted to create and made it happen.” Everybody was wonderful to work with. Dannon was just awesome, with his eye for detail, the ability to help choose materials and find ways to make my ideas work. Richard and even the staff not working on the project were a pleasure to interact with.  I would recommend 2fORM to anyone.” -Adam Drapkin, D. C.
