A LETTER TO PARENTS It is a true blessing to have your children in KiDS 3:11 on Sunday mornings. If you wonder what the name KiDS 3:11 means, the answer is two-fold: 1. KiDS 3:11 is for kids, ages 3-11. 2. KiDS 3:11 is based on 1 Corinthians 3:11, “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” As Children’s Ministry Staff, we know that God cares more that His children come to know Him in a deep and relational way more than we do. We know that God cares more than even you, as parents, for your children to know Him. We know that God is already at work in the lives of your children before they even walk through our doors. However, we also know that God has called parents of the children in our midst to bring them up in the Lord. He is definitely going to use time on Sunday mornings to teach your children about Himself, but ultimately he leaves this responsibility to parents. Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (NIV) 4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. [a] 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. With this in mind, one of the tools God will use in the lives of your kids will certainly be their time in KiDS 3:11 and KidzClub. With several kids at home ourselves, we know the impact Sundays have on our kiddos and the ways that God works in their hearts. We are in a place that we need your help! In order to provide a safe and impactful program on Sunday mornings (and Sunday evenings for KidzClub), we have to have at least TWO adults in the classrooms at all times. If this requirement is not met by Thursday mornings, you will receive a notice that class will be cancelled for certain ages in your weekly FOC Newsletters. The same will be true for KidzClub. We currently have 27 spots open on a monthly basis for teachers and check-in/out helpers, plus 4 spots each week for KidzClub. We are looking to fill each of those spots with 45 different people so that for the other 3 Sundays, you can be in worship or on a date with your spouse Sunday night. Maybe you think you do not have the gifts to be a classroom with children, but you might be completely surprised what God will do through you in just an hour and a half! You also know others in this church who don’t cross our paths and would be a great fit on Sundays. Please talk to them for us, encourage them to email [email protected] or call the church office (719) 481-2255. Above all else, please pray to the Lord of the Harvest to provide workers in the field! Thank you for entrusting your children to us and our volunteers on Sundays. It is a pleasure to see their smiling faces to start off our weeks! Please call or email with questions.
