A Prayer and Worship Night 1. Have your worship leader prepare 30 to 40 minutes of worship. Don’t have them play the worship all at once. It might be good to play 25 to 30 minutes and then take time to pray. 2. See tips for prayer and ministry for ideas on what to pray. I like praying for 15 or 20 minutes and then doing another song (or two) and then praying for another 15 or 20 minutes and then another song (or two). I think this keeps prayer fresh. 3. Consider thinking through each prayer slot. You should have around 3 or maybe 4 slots if you keep things moving. Some ideas you could pray for in those 3 or 4 slots: • Marriages, singles, parenting, children • Bible reading, prayer, other spiritual disciplines • Local issue, national issues, international issues. • Jobs, finances, health • Pray through a psalm, a gospel passage, an epistle • Unbelievers at work, in neighborhood, in family • Covenant Fellowship, Sovereign Grace, Covenant Mercies • Our youth ministry, Bridge ministry, singles ministry, other ministries • You can take time to pray for each person or couple in the group (maybe 3 or 4 and then do a worship song and then 3 or 4 and another worship song). 4. Be open to what the spirit wants to do. If you have folks in your group that are prophetic, let them know about your categories so they can pray in advance. 5. Close with a worship song that celebrates Christ.
