for sale at the Alternative Christmas Faire. Also, the scouts are collecting small personal items (soaps, lotions, etc.) for the homeless.

A 2015 stewardship packet has been mailed to each family in our congregation. Please bring your Pledge Card to the next In-gathering Service on November 16.

Good morning, welcome to worship. Today is our first of two annual Pledge In-gathering Services when we formally receive the Stewardship Pledges for 2015. It is very important for our life, witness, ministry and mission. Many of us have been praying seriously for this time, that we might be able to continue to thrive at PLCPC. In many ways, the funds committed to this will indicate if and how we are thriving. When Jesus says that “It is more blessed to give, than to receive,” he touches on the joy that so many experience as they give of their Time, Talent and Treasure for Christ and His Kingdom. Frankly, where your treasure is, is precisely where your heart will be also. So that is why we’ve been telling the stories of celebrations, breakthroughs, lives touched, hearts healed, relationships mended, and rejuvenated spirits as God’s Word and Spirit is at work here at PLCPC. We invite you to come along. Today, prayerfully say Yes to any New Beginnings that God would spark in you or through you. And as we hear the Hannah, Eli, Samuel and Saul stories, we see great opportunities that just seem to melt away, that don’t quite happen in too many cases. Yet for those who do come into God’s good grace, the benefits are far and mighty. You, too, can be in that latter group, to help as a Covenant Community striving to follow Jesus! God bless you and yours as we approach the Thanksgiving season, For Christ and His Kingdom, Pastor John
