Only with our good friends can we bellyache and talk about the drudgery and extent that some of us have to take. And that's just to get my lists ready for our church tax accountant! (I know, some of you love this sort of stuff!)

Yet, as our Lectionary Psalm says today, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want!" Doesn't that already set up a crisis of faith and trust, a tension between what we believe and how we live? So, maybe it’s a good thing this year that our being led by the Holy Spirit to preach through the balance of the Sermon on the Mount brings us to the issue of our money in these last days prior to Tax Day. And doesn't Jesus have much to say! I've never actually counted all the topics that Jesus does address, but I do take it on good authority that the most often spoken issue is about our money. And, yes, between our schedule books and our check books...ok, debit accounts, or whatever...we do discover things about ourselves. As always, our Lord puts His finger on the very core of the matter, namely, our hearts. So hear the Word today and let God's Spirit move you...touch you, yes, for Heaven's Sake.
