A WEEK OF PRAYER FOR THE SUMMER

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

SUMMER IS SUPPOSED TO BE a season of rest and rejuvenation. This year, though, summer looks different.

Will you join us in praying for those who are dealing with canceled plans and isolation — while also praising God for time spent with loved ones and the ability to carve out times of rejuvenation in these summer months?

01

03

Pray for peace for those who have canceled family vacations and are dealing with disappointment. Pray that they will find creative, safe ways to rest, recover and reconnect with loved ones.

Pray for children who are entering the summer feeling frustrated and confused. Pray that the next few months will be filled with surprises and fun — and pray for extra patience for the parents in your life.

05

Pray that this summer will be a time of slowing down and refilling. While it may look different this year, summer can still be a time to rest and ease the frantic pace of life. Ask God to help you not lose sight of the gifts summer brings.

07

Where can you see the gifts of summer? Looking past the pandemic, what are you thankful for in this season? Pray that God will open your eyes to the beauty of summer this week.

02

Pray for those who are feeling overwhelmed by entering the summer feeling isolated and lonely. Pray for porch visits, phone calls and picnics that will help them feel less alone in this time.

04

Pray for churches as in many cases they enter another season of worshiping apart. Pray that children’s pastors will find new, exciting ways to minister to children, and that as some churches begin to gather to worship they will be wise and safe.

06

Praise God for the gifts of summer! Longer days, the beauty of nature, the warmth of the sun, and the opportunity to be outside and enjoy his creation.

The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy. –PSALM 65:8, niv
