Smart Manufacturing is the intelligent, real-time orchestration and optimization of business, physical and digital processes within factories and across the entire value chain. Businesses have been doing this and continue to do this through inefficient manual processes, partly because the technology was not available in the past and manufacturers simply fell behind the digitalization curve. Well, the technology has caught up. But now, manufacturers are stuck on another question: How? In this session, we will look at how the Siemens SIMATIC IT UAF platform gives you the tools needed to progress into Smart Manufacturing. We will explore Smart Manufacturing and how this can be achieved with tools available today. We will review and describe the practical use cases that can be achieved. We will discuss how these two approaches in manufacturing can coexist and drive the business to leverage Smart Manufacturing to its full advantage. What is that advantage, you ask? One major advantage is reducing the reliance on human decisions and increasing the number of automated decisions, which consequently will increase output and remove bottlenecks in the process. Led by David Kaparis, a technical expert with over a decade of hands-on experience implementing Smart Manufacturing solutions, this session will teach attendees how to approach Smart Manufacturing leveraging Siemens SIMATIC IT UAF. Q&A will end the session. Learning Objectives: Analyze current industry trends that will impact the future Increase productivity and proficiency with current/future software Strategize to meet current industry trends using Siemens solutions
