ACS Catalysis Goes to China the calculated IF for Chinese publications in ACS Catalysis for 2017 was 30% higher than the journal’s IF overall, demonstrating the disproportionate impact of contributions to the journal from this country. We look forward to future opportunities to convene at scientific conferences around the world, creating opportunities for the ACS Catalysis editorial team to interact with members of the global catalysis community.

n May 7, 2018, in conjunction with the 31st Chinese Chemical Society Chemistry Congress, an ACS Publications Forum featured ACS Catalysis and a diverse slate of speakers covering all areas of catalysis. Because of the massive impact that researchers in Asiaand especially Chinahave had on ACS Catalysis, a team of 20 Editors and Editorial Advisory Board members convened in Hangzhou, China to participate in the Forum and an Editorial Advisory Board meeting. Co-organized by ACS Publications and Prof. Feng Wang, of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, 16 presenters covered topics ranging from the molecular design of enzymatic catalysts, to molecular asymmetric catalysis, molecular and heterogeneous electrocatalysis, and diverse subjects in heterogeneous catalysis. On May 8, 2018, strategic and tactical directions, as well as journal statistics, were discussed at an Editorial Advisory Board (EAB) meeting attended by the assembled Editors and EAB members. For the past several years, manuscript submissions, published papers, citations, and various publication parameters, such as the Clarivate Analytics Journal Impact Factor (IF) and related Elsevier CiteScore, have continued to rise. A significant contributor to these trends includes the strong journal usage, submissions, and impact of researchers in Asia. For example,
