2. SCOPE 2.1. NTA, Inc. has evaluated the above product(s) as Type II Class 2 adhesives, acceptable for use in the construction of structural insulated panels (SIPs) when used with the materials and application instructions described in this report. NTA, Inc. has evaluated the above product(s) in accordance with: 2.2. NTA IM22 SEP02 SIP Panel Adhesives 2.3. NTA IM36 Quality System Requirements NTA, Inc. has evaluated the following properties of the above product(s): 2.4. Bond and Shear Strength 2.5. Long Duration Loads 2.6. Strength Loss due to accelerated weathering and moisture exposure To obtain the most current NTA Listing Report visit www.ntainc.com/product-certification/. 3. USES 3.1. General. Foam Nail Adhesives are One-part polyurethane adhesives used in the lamination of structural insulated panels.

3.2. Adhesive Classification. Foam Nail Adhesives shall be considered Type II Class 2 adhesives as defined in ICCES AC05. As such, the adhesive demonstrates high moisture and creep resistance and may be used in SIPs intended to support long duration loads other than the panel weight. 3.3. Compatible Materials. Foam Nail Adhesives are intended for bonding oriented strand board (OSB) and expanded poly-styrene (EPS) in structural insulated panels. 4. DESCRIPTION 4.1. General. Foam Nail Adhesives within the scope of this report are one-part moisture cure polyurethane adhesives. The adhesives are available in various size containers. Foam Nail Adhesives have a shelf life of 6 months from manufacturer date when stored in unopened containers between 50°F and 90°F. 5.

DESIGN The scope of this report is limited to Foam Nail One Part47, -20, or -120 polyurethane adhesives for use in Structural Insulated Panels. Details related to incorporation of the product beyond that scope are the responsibility of the designer of record. 5.1. Application. Foam Nail Adhesives within the scope of this report may be applied in a continuous thin film, or by bead application, to achieve a uniform coating. The coating is applied to one of the substrates to be bonded. After application of the adhesive to the substrate, a uniform coating of water is applied to the adhesive to activate it. Table 1 contains the evaluated application rates and conditions for the adhesives. 5.2. Curing Conditions. Open time, close time, and press time are specified for each adhesive should be in accordance with the manufacturer’s application instructions. Table 2 contains the evaluated curing conditions for the adhesive. 5.3. Allowable Loads. Allowable loads may not exceed the allowable values found in Table 3 or the allowable strength of the materials being bonded, whichever is less. The loads listed in Table 3 are applicable to the adhesives only and do not take into account the allowable stresses of any compatible materials. 6.
