General • The Administrative Assistant exists to help communicate, oversee, maintain and assist the worship ministry. This person must be a leader who has a passion to see people fulfilled in their personal ministries. Must have good “people sense,” and know how to inspire and motivate. This person needs to have excellent communication skills. Duties include general clerical, receptionist and project-based work.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities • Must have strong personal and communication skills, including the ability to keep confidence. A high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence are also important. • Must have strong verbal and writing skills. Must be proficient with Mac computer platforms and essential apps. • Must be proficient in all platforms of social media as well as possessing a strong grasp of social media etiquette. Experience with website development is preferred. • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented, able to complete tasks within defined time frames. No musical experience is required. Responsibilities – administrative • Build and maintain Planning Center database. • Oversight of all aspects of daily functioning of the worship office, including protecting the pastor’s time, keeping the calendar and scheduling, originating correspondence with volunteers in the worship ministry and any other duties as assigned. • Oversight of all other worship office personnel, including Ministry Assistants, interns, AVL directors and any other paid worship personal. • Maintain the weekly volunteer list and assign duties through Planning Center website. • Keep track of and document office budget expenditures.

Mount Ararat Baptist Church Worship and Arts Administrative Assistant • Arrange travel for conferences. • Screen emails for Pastor when away and as accountability protection. • Maintain all social media submissions and interactions, including (but not limited to) the worship ministry blog, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. • Manage all shipping needs as well as equipment servicing. Time Requirements: • Time required is anywhere from 10-15 hours/week • This may be increased around major seasonal events such as Christmas and Easter.
