Throughout this musical, Jay Rouse and Rose Aspinall skillfully weave scripture and dramatic first-hand accounts of the birth of Jesus into beloved carols and original songs. Each monologue and song will take you on a journey from the longing of Zechariah, the joy and acceptance of Mary, and the courage of Joseph to the accounts of the shepherds and wise men.
Join us this Advent for Wednesday Night Dinner Church from 6:30 to 7:30pm in the Life Center. Dinner Church is a worship experience shared over a meal that includes communion, scripture, reflection, and prayers. Individuals and families of all ages are invited to participate in this gathering modeled on the early church. Invite others and come share a meal of soup, salad, and bread. Let us inspire and prepare you for the celebration of the birth of our Lord with both familiar Christmas carols and newly-composed pieces. The musical presentation will feature the Living Word Choir accompanied by a chamber orchestra. The Gathering to be Held The Gathering “Count Your Blessings” social will be held on Thursday, November 15, in the Life Center. Gathering team members will meet at 8:30am to finish decorating and hold a short planning meeting; guests will begin arriving at 9:30 with the fun-filled day concluding at 1:30pm.
Are you traveling out of town for Christmas this year and will miss Christmas Eve worship services at Living Word? Join us before you leave for this pre-Christmas worship service on December 21 at 7pm as we anticipate the manger. The service will include familiar Christmas hymns, readings, communion and special music of the season in a live-unplugged setting. The service will conclude with a candle lighting. _____________________________________________
The always popular Salvation Army men’s choir “Harbor Lights” will be the featured entertainment. The fun-filled day will also include a program presented by The Learning Center, games, exercises, crafts, songs and lunch. Gathering guests have beginning to moderate memory loss and these few hours of socialization offer their caregiver relaxation and peace of mind. High school youth group will be meeting November 11th from 4-5:30pm. Come for Bible study, high-energy games, time to relax, and food. All high school students are welcome; any year, any friends, or anyone who has never come before. We can't wait to see you there! Mission Trip info session November 11th at noon. Any students who will be beginning 9th grade next Fall through those graduating from 12th grade at the end of this school year are welcome to attend! Come find out about location, history, price, service mind-set, and have any additional questions answered! High school youth group will be off November 18 for Thanksgiving break - make sure to eat something delicious on our behalf! November 25th the high school students will be joining together to decorate the church's Christmon tree!
