I. Don’t Bring your Family Down “And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger” Provoke: exasperate, make angry or resentful, humiliate, belittle, badger, pester “Chasten your son while there is hope, And do not set your heart on his destruction.” Proverbs 19:18 One of the greatest challenges a man faces is to live a Godly life in his home. Without the guidance of the Holy Spirit it is impossible.

I. Build Your Family Up “bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” Bring Up: nourish, feed, mature Instruction: teaching, warning, ethical and corrective instruction in regard to belief or behavior Help them to take the principles of God’s word and apply it to their hearts and daily lives. “…choose for yourselves today whom you will serve…but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15

Men have been assigned by God the inescapable role of spiritual head of the home together with responsibilities, obligations and privileges that accompany it. Children are won or lost in the home! “A child is not likely to find a father in God unless he finds something of God in his father” Humble yourself today before the Lord and ask Him to help you fulfill the Godly role to which He has called you.
