The AppliedMicro Media Server reference kit was developed for OEMs targeting the rapidly expanding Media Server / NAS market. As digital media becomes more pervasive at home, consumers are expecting to have access to their stored data anywhere, anytime, without concerns for security and data corruption. In addition to having access to stored data, consumers expect data to be served in real-time without having to worry about the underlying storage technology.
Goleta Overview The Goleta reference design is aimed at the lowto-high-end Media Server / NAS market for consumers who want to keep their digital data secure and accessible. With its compact design and sleek looks, Goleta offers all of the features required by today’s digital consumers. Goleta makes it easy to organize, access, and safely share photos, videos, music, and E-mail at home or on the road.
Security, Capacity, and Scalability Goleta’s built-in security and backup features keep valuable digital data protected from intrusion and corruption. Compatible with many multi-Terabyte hard drives, Goleta can store hundreds of hours of video and hundreds of thousands of songs and pictures. If additional storage is required, Goleta’s intuitive web browser User Interface makes installing and configuring additional disk drives easy. The builtin Ethernet port also allows for remote configuration.
