WEEKLY PRAYER SHEET 11/5/2017

Jake & Katie Oyler

Ethnos 360 Missionary Training Jake and Katie are in their junior semester of Bible school in Wisconsin and are starting their preliminary application process for the Ethnos 360 training center, which prepares them for full-time missionary service overseas. Jake has been asked to go on an exploratory two-week trip to Thailand with a missionary who served there for 12 years. It will be a guys backpacking trip, so Katie and the kids will not be going this time. They were hoping to look at a mission field together with the kids, but that can happen afterwards if Jake feels Thailand is where the Lord is leading. They will be visiting existing church plants in northern Thailand, which will give Jake an opportunity to witness first hand what a church plant looks like. Prayer points: • For Katie and the kids at school while Jake is away • For Jake: safety as they travel, that the Holy Spirit would be equipping them and using them during their time there, that they could encourage the missionaries, that God would show them if this is the country where He might want them to serve after their training. He leaves November 24. From Jake: “While studying for my class on Buddhism, I went to a Buddhist temple in Milwaukee. It was packed full of idols. I get the feeling that Thailand is somewhat of a black hole when it comes to the gospel. That is all the more reason to plant churches there.” To help with this trip, see the bulletin for info.

We’d love to pray for you! Update our online prayer chain by going to easthaven.org. Click resources, then prayer. Click on share your prayer request and fill out the form.

South Asia Project: “In the past month, 30 farmers in the district lost their lives due to insecticide poisoning as they were applying it to their crops. An additional 350 farmers are undergoing medical treatment. Those who survive are struggling with the after effects of the poisoning and lost crops. The bereaved families desperately need prayer, support, and encouragement.” Carmen DeVries: Ethnos 360 in Papua New Guinea Jake & Katie Oyler: Ethnos 360 in missionary training (See back page) Zach & Carrie Wolfe: Pioneers Ministry Glacier Bible College: Pray for the funds needed to build the dorms and staff house, and a timely completion of Schleyer’s house. Pray for the recruitment of the 20 students needed to start in 2018. Making the next generation a priority of prayer: 59% of young Christians temporarily or permanently disconnect from the church after age of 15. Suicide is the third leading cause of death for ages 10-24. One in four teenagers have at least one major episode of depression in high school. We need to pray for the next generation! For Faith: For those who have walked away from Jesus, pray that their faith would be restored and strengthened. We pray for those who are following Him, that their faith to grow even more.

Personal Discipleship at Glacier Bible College Do you recall that special person that walked beside you in your journey of faith; speaking into your life, challenging, and instructing, intentionally equipping you to be a faithful follower of Jesus? Personal discipleship is a core tenant of Glacier Bible College. Students will have one on one time with mature disciples and professors to help them process what they have learned, to encourage them, and to share life with them. This will give the students the skills to defend their faith and become disciple-makers themselves. The goal of biblical discipleship is to produce mature men and women who think, communicate, and act like Jesus Christ. Will you be that special person to a young student by giving and donating resources needed to start Glacier Bible College?

Thank You!
