A New Wednesday Thing this Fall By Pastor Andy “Do not remember the former things, or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19) God is constantly up to new things in our midst. Our call as followers of Jesus is to notice these new things, name them, and be a part of them. Anyone who has attended CLC for worship or programming on a Wednesday evening has noticed a sense of energy and excitement. Most families are in town on Wednesdays when school is in session so there is generally good attendance. We have been slowly building our Wednesday evening offerings, with Wednesday Night Eats coming back a few years ago and the addition of Advent evening worship. Starting this September we’ll take another step, launching a 12-week pilot of Wednesday evening worship, dinner, and learning for all ages, including confirmation, roughly between 5 & 7 PM. We’ll continue to offer two Sunday morning worship services, as well as Sunday School and Sunday Forum. It’s a pilot, which means it’s experimental. We know God is up to something. We’ll see if this is how we’re called to be a part of it. I hope you’ll choose to be a part of it in some way, and request your prayers as we begin to help it to take shape.
