Fall Term 2017
Application & Info Packet
Dear Applicant, We believe that the call of God is sacred, holy and worth investing in. It doesn’t just happen – it emerges over time, through commitment and discipline as you continue to grow and be developed into the person God’s called you to be. God’s plan to change the world is the local church. In order to fulfill God’s mission, the church must make disciples – men and women who love Jesus, who surrender their lives to His purpose and serve God, their neighbors, their communities and the world. We consider it a tremendous privilege to come alongside you in this process. In this packet you’ll discover the vision and grasp the basics of our program, as well as the steps you can take to join us. If you have any questions or if we can serve you in any way please email

Weekly Schedule
Classroom: Tuesday evening (2 hours) and Thursday evening (2 hours) Practical Ministry: Serving at Weekend Services (5 hours)
We will design and coordinate a range of service schedules taking in consideration each intern’s station in life (single, married, married with children). Here are a few examples of service schedules for previous interns: Married with children: Serve Saturday or Sunday and attend one service that day. Single: Serve a combination of services on Saturday and Sunday and attend one. 3
On average, the combined workload of classroom time, practical ministry service and homework will equal roughly 20 hours per week.
What Should I Expect?
NEXT is a 16-week intensive designed to provide experience and growth opportunities in three specific areas: 1) personal development 2) biblical theology 3) leadership training 4) hands on practical ministry application. Because of this unique approach, NEXT provides a valuable learning environment not only for applicants exploring a call to full-time ministry, but also for those wanting to develop leadership skills, spiritual growth and character that will greatly benefit them in every area of their lives. The classroom environment combines lectures, group discussions, learning laboratories and analysis of practical ministry experiences. During the course of the term, interns will read and interact with at least six books and complete a variety of special projects. All service times will be followed by group discussion during the next classroom session to develop each student’s philosophy of ministry and provide valuable insight and perspective to the vision, values and practices of Milestone church. Previous ministry experience and areas of interest will be taken into consideration while interns are appointed to different ministry departments to grow in their personal capacity and gain a broader perspective of the various team dynamics at Milestone Church. Interns should plan on attending one service as their regular worship service. Interns should plan on participating in church wide special events (Serve Weekends, Flourish, Joy, Missions’ Project, etc.) throughout the Fall. While the program is intended to be challenging, we are committed to helping every intern successfully complete the term and adapt to a manageable workload. We also hope to create a healthy environment that encourages team skills, strong friendships and a deeper commitment to spiritual family. Each intern will receive an individual evaluation at the beginning of the term to establish a unique set of goals, at the midterm to evaluate their progress, and at the end to recommend next steps. At the end of the term, N1 interns may be invited to continue and join the N2 program for a second term. Each intern’s progress and prospects for continuing onward into subsequent terms will be discussed individually. Participation in NEXT is not a guarantee of employment at Milestone Church. Interns are encouraged to communicate in advance with any questions relating to potential scheduling conflicts, classroom projects, relational challenges, financial concerns or overall progress in the program to ensure their successful progress in the program.
