The Resurrection Paige Patterson, President of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary poses a question that has been asked for two thousand years, “Why should anyone believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth?” The challenges to the reality of the resurrection of Jesus have prompted Christians, historians, and theologians to dig deeper into this most important event in Christianity. Each time the bodily resurrection of Jesus is challenged, the more evidence is discovered proving its reality.

From Pastor Brad

Such evidences include, the failure to explain the event without the resurrection, the birth of faith in the disciples and the change in their lives, the discarded grave clothes, His appearance first to women, change in the day of worship from the Sabbath to Sunday, the moral character of the eyewitnesses, and many more proofs. The evidence is overwhelming that the tomb of Christ was indeed empty. Therefore, all God’s children can join Job in proclaiming, “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another” (Job 19:25-27). The resurrection of Christ means your faith is real. It means that the entire life and works of Jesus Christ is true and trustworthy. His resurrection means we serve a living God who indwells our hearts and leads us in paths of righteousness. Rejoice! We will see Him one day. In Christ Alone,

Brad

Notes

What role does Jesus play in your worship? There are many aspects of Jesus to which we might point, but at the center of our worship we must specifically recognize the significance of His role as mediator and Savior. 1 Peter 3:18 says, "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God." We are all sinners (Rom 3:23), and all sin is offensive to a righteous and holy God. Christians recognize that sin is against God, but we may not honestly acknowledge that when we sin we are in pure defiance of God and that sin is utterly offensive to Him. God is gracious but cannot, by His nature, overlook our offenses, and there is no way that we can have a relationship with God without a mediator. Jesus is the only way we have access to God. Jesus is the only reason we can have a relationship with God. Jesus accomplished on the Cross what we could never have accomplished for ourselves, and Jesus is the singular reason we can even offer our worship to God. As we worship, may it be fueled by an outpouring of passionate gratitude from our hearts to our mediator and Savior...exalting God's greatness in Jesus Christ! "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all" 1 Tim 2:5-6 In Christ, Rodger

STUDENT’S POETRY PRAYERS USING JONAH 2 AS A MODEL I look around and all I see are categories And I feel like I don’t fit with them The pressure pushing down on me is too much to bear I look up to God: I cry out, “Lord help me, the weight is too heavy.” I cried out and He answered He showed me my true value is in Him alone And my value doesn’t require the world’s opinion. Thank you, oh Lord for showing me that my worth Is not in the world, but in You Thank you Lord, I am your child

Please thank Melanie Burns and Michelle Ferguson who are faithfully serving in our Infant Nursery during 1st service this month.

SUNDAY MORNING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We have immediate needs for multiple volunteers in our Infant and Preschool Nurseries. TEGA CAY BAPTIST & VICTORY SPORTS!! Tega Cay Baptist along with Victory Sports are partnering together to start a new sports program using our church land on Gold Hill Road. It will include trail running, fitness stations, and nutrition training. This will be great for those that run track, cross country, or would like to condition for other sports. But anyone can participate just to get in better shape! The most important aspect of this program will be a focus on how to translate what we learn about training our bodies into training for our spiritual lives (1 Timothy 4:6-10). Their first two month season will begin April 18th and will be Saturday mornings (exact times still to be determined). This is for all students currently in 6-12th grade. I’d very much like our students here at Tega Cay Baptist to participate because this will be a great opportunity for outreach into our community! Please sign up yourself and a friend! Sign up will be available soon at www.victorysportsoutreach.org
