JOY Introduction: As we transition from Thanksgiving to Christmas, we must also settle our life in the Joy of the Lord! Joy is my emotional response of gladness to the promises of God. It is one of the Fruits of the Spirit and it is the Strength of the Lord. Scriptures: Nehemiah 8:1-12 Luke 7:1-20 Romans 8:18-30 I! Corinthians 10:12-18 Hebrews 12:1-3 Revelation 3:5-6 Revelation 20:11-15 Revelation 21:22-27 Discussion Questions: 1. What keeps you from being and remaining joyful? 2. Why does God put joy in the future? 3. How can you avoid the traps of shame, envy and power? 4. How has God’s desire for your adoption changed you? Moving Forward: 1. Own Your Emotions! 2. Walk in the Way of Joy! 3. Run Your Race! 4. Pursue Your Future! 5. Weigh Everything! 6. Refry Your Joy! Changing Your Mind: Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,  let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,  2  looking unto Jesus, the  author and  finisher of  our  faith,  who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:1-3 NKJV). ©2018 Capital Community Church All Rights Reserved
