ASCS FOURTH GRADE SUMMER READING

Dear Incoming 4th Grade Parents, As you know, fostering a love of reading at a young age has so many benefits. With reading being the biggest indicator of academic success, we must foster that love and continue to encourage our students to read. At All Saints Catholic School, we want to do all that we can to foster that love of reading. This summer students will have the opportunity to build their knowledge and faith through the wonderful world of books! As incoming 4th graders there will be 2 parts to our summer required reading program. They are as follows: 

 

The first part of the 4st grade required summer reading program will be for the students to read one of the books from the list provided. If you are in Honors ELA, you must pick 2 books from the starred books. Most of these books can be found at your local library. The second part of the 4th grade required summer reading program is to complete the Summer Reading Pennant (attached) for only one book. The project will be due on the first day of school.

My hope is that this summer requirement will encourage your child to continue to read over the summer. I am looking forward to seeing you in the fall! Have a wonderful summer vacation! Mrs. Whiffen
